HERE WE HAVE
: A vintage Sherman-Klove "S-K Tools" toolbox with the hip gable styled top! I'm guessing it is from the 1940s or 1950s but would be 1962 at the latest, which is when S-K was bought out and the name changed.. but I'm not certain on age. Toolbox comes with the tray inside.
We got this from a gent in NE Ohio who had used it to store his auto body repair tools for years. It has the name "BOB" on one side and a sticker for "W.E. (Bill) Layman" inside the lid, a defunct service station equipment store in Akron, OH. All I could find about this company was a few newspaper archives from the late 1930s.
CONDITION:
Used condition! As noted in the description, there's a previous owner's name in red on one side. General discoloration, corrosion, paint splatters, and scratches spread throughout. One larger dent to the lid, and other small dings spread around..nothing that affects usability. I wiped it down with a wet rag on the outside and a wire brush on the inside, but you may want to clean it up more!
