Vintage woven straw & bamboo - satin interior w hinged lid SEWING BASKET - nice!

This listing is for a very nice vintage woven sewing basket.
Made of woven straw and bamboo, this basket has small wood feet and a hinged lid. The interior is made with a lush pumpkin satin interior with gold satin highlights. The basket measures 10" long x 7" wide x 5 1/2" tall - not including the handle. There is a woven rust color straw loop closure.  The top is slightly domed with a straw wrapped "D" shape handle which is affixed with wire. There is a gold twisted cord to hold the lid upright. Inside there is a satin loop on the center band on the lid which would hold a thimble.
Unlike some more modern, similar looking sewing baskets; this one has wood framework, base and lid instead of cardboard. It is quite sturdy! The original cost of .98 is written in pencil on the bottom. I find it interesting that there is a piece of "wood grain" paper affixed to the bottom of the WOOD bottom... just curious!
ISSUES: Overall, this item is in good to very good condition. The hinge operates nicely. The lining has no rips or tears. All the feet are attached. The handle swivels nicely. *One piece of straw at the handle is unglued (see photo #9). The red woven straw closure loop is raveling a little; although it still functions (see photo #2). There is some light discoloration, staining and a missing tufted satin button on the interior (see photos #10 and 11).
This item does not smell of smoke, mildew, must, mothballs or have pet odor.
