Unique Vintage Large French Zinc Storage Box with Lid & Original Leather Strap

Found in northern France at a countryside flea market, I was told this old tall
zinc
oval shaped box was last used for spare fishing tackles, when going out
fishing
along the streams. But it could have been intended for anything really, like a tool box or to carry maps. Early 1900s with visible soldering joints which emphasize the rustic appeal of the piece. Nice aged patina. A solid piece, with just a small crack at the top edge of the box soldering joint (hidden when the lid is on). Some verdigris on the lower strap holders (could be cleaned off or left as this). The leather strap shows signs of usage with crack-lines when bent. It could use a good polish, but is still solid. No rust inside and out, no pierce in the interior. Heavy! Fishing props not included.
Measures 11 inches by 4 inches; 10 inches tall.
