ROLLING STONE RECORDS b&w 8"x10" PUBLICITY PHOTO from 1971
Peter Webb photographed The Rolling Stones for their "Sticky Fingers"album, and famously then lost his negatives for almost 40 years. In early 1972 Peter entrusted his photographer brother-in-law with the safe keeping of an unmarked folder of negatives, an essential detail which Peter had conveniently forgotten.
Nearly forty years later his brother-in-law called to say he had found an unmarked bag of negatives contained
in their pristine sleeves amongst his own, which could be The Rolling Stones, and as they say the rest is history.
This ultra rare record company issued 50 year old 8" x 10" glossy is from that very photo session.
16" x 20" prints of a number of photos from this photo session are now currently selling in signed limited editions for
£1,140 Pounds Sterling at an art gallery in Leamington Spa, 100 miles northwest of London, just south of Coventry. That would translate to ,580.00 in American dollars as of today, July 14, 2021. So who knows what this particular 8" x 10" print is ultimately worth? But it is highly collectible and more than likely
to increase in value and thus not just an awesome iconic Rolling Stones image but a great investment.
